Handmade by Kenyan artisans using traditional methods that have been passed down through generations. They are crafted from ethically-sourced, sanitized animal bone that is hand carved with batik handles. Batik is an age old art process used in Africa. Created by placing wax on the white bone and dipping the bone into a dark brown or black dye, which results in the beautiful African mud cloth designs.
Jedando African Handicrafts works with more than 100 carvers in Machakos, Kenya. They mostly design and create handicrafts from wood and bone.
